Dotty...

In this page I have used a silhouette stencil and also put a dot stencil with it to get the dots to just be in the silhouette.  I then used a white Sharpie to outline the silhouette.

This is also a page that I have torn out of the journal, then torn in half and then stuck back in using Time Holtz Tissue Tape.  I really love doing this but it did take a bit of getting used to.

I love using this background stamp as a border.  I have it heaps of fun to colour the flowers.  Again I have used the white Sharpie to accent the centers of the flowers.

Soft Kitty...

I have been enjoying playing with different colours.  I love this one as I have only really used blues and yellow.  This page was one where I had been using to clean off my stencils.  The stencil pattern that you can see in white was from cleaning from a previous page.

I have also used the white to stamp the leaf pattern.  I have then used both a white and black Sharpie to outline the image to give more definition.

Don't you just love the spots on the kitty??

More art journal fun...

I love playing with colour and different ways to use your stamps.      Curious Corrin is standing on 2 border stamps that I have used back to back from the Further Around the Edge set.

I have started to use lines from songs in my journal.  I find the ones I like and I write them down and keep this in the front pocket of the journal.

I really love Curious Corrin - she is one of my favs and great to colour with.

Adding tags...

At CHA I got the opportunity to have a look through some on Dyan Reaveley's journals.  To say that are totally amazing is an understatement.  In one of her journals she added a tag so I thought I better give it a go.

I have used some of the new stamps from the Under the Sea set.

I love the idea of having some hidden journalling under the tag.

I also used black paint through the stencils to add the black starts.  I then used a white marker to outline them.

Woohoo new inks and stamps

It is always so exciting when we get new product in at Pages 2 Scrap.  I have been waiting for the 6 new Dylusions ink sprays to arrive and as soon as they did I just had to take them home and play.  The six new colours are Cherry Pie, Dirty Martini, Calypso Teal, After Midnight, Funky Fuchsia and White Linen.  I am totally in love with the White Linen.  It is my new favourite colour.

The new stamps that Dyan has realsed are very cute.  They are all monsters and critters.  I just love them.

Also the new sayings stamps are really cool too and they always make me giggle.

Layers...

I am so lucky that each year I get to travel to CHA and attend the big trade show.  This year I got an opportunity to look through Dyan Reaveley's journals.  There were several pages that were torn in the journal.  Dyan told me that she just tears the paper out and then sticks it back in when she needs it.

So I thought that I would give this a go.  In the series of pages I have torn half a page out, then stuck it back into the series to make a new page.  I have used Tim Holtz Tissue Tape to stick it back in.  This is a really cool effect and adds another layer of dimension to your page.

Here is a close up of the torn pages.

Having the smaller pages can add so much more to your journal.  It helps to make it very easy to finish a page.  They are all separate pages on their own but are like a mini story.

I have tired to keep the colour scheme similar throughout the pages.  I have also used a mix of Dylusions Inks and Dabber paints on all of the pages.

To finish off something a little weird again.  I also like the Girls with the Scissors near the page that is torn!!

Sparkly Shoes & a New Tiara...

Don't you just love a weekend where you get to craft??  I am so lucky that I can just go into my scrap room and everything is there ready and waiting for me.

I really love the stamped saying on this page.  "I'm pretty sure that with sparkly shoes and a new tiara we could conquer the world".  The possibilities are just endless !!

I love using the house stamps and the toadstools to make the house look so tiny.  Adding the ladybug and ants also helps.    I just love with Dylusions that no two backgrounds are the same.  I always seems to end up with a page that is nothing like I thought it would.  I have again used the white Sharpie to make the outlines of the leaves to really make them pop.

I think it is great fun to add something a tad unusual to each page.  I love putting in a stamped person upside down on the page.  On this page I have also thrown in a couple of bees, a spider, lady bugs and a few ants.
