Tags with Dylusions Inks...

I just love playing around with tags and new products.  Dylusions inks are my fav at the moment.  I thought I would try something a little different.  I stamped the butterfly's using Archival ink.  I then used the the new Tim Holtz Water Brush by Range and dipped it into some of the ink that I sprayed onto my non-stick craft mat.  I then coloured the butterflies.  I then used my blending tool to colour the rest of the card.

This tag shows the amazing colours of the inks.  I also used the Picket Fence Distress Stain to stamp the little while flowers.

I just had to test out some of the Dylusions stamps that I have too.  They are so much fun to play with.

Art Journal..

I have started to do a little Art Journalling.  I went to a friends out on the weekend and I thought that it was a great time to start working some more in my journal.  This is the first page in the journal.  I have used a mix of stamps, distress markers and Dylusions inks.

Here is a close up of the first page.

Here is a close up of the second page.

I decided to use a piece of masking tape that I had stamped some flowers on.  To make it blend more into the page I did a little bit of doodling around it.  I just love the eye stamp (Dylusions).  I used the Picket Fence Distress Marker to colour the white of the eye.  Just love it.

Falling in Love - with Dylusion Inks

Yes I have fallen in Love.  Dylusion Inks by Dyan Reaveley are the most amazing and fun inks I have seen in a very long time.  I spent the afternoon on Easter Saturday with my fav aunty 'Flo' playing with tags and eventually started working in one of my journals.

The colours are so vibrant.  Just using these inks fills me with inspiration.  I was lucky enough to have met Dyan at CHA and she is such a talented and amazing artist.  She also have a great sense of humor.  She can even laugh at herself, which I think a lot of us need to learn how to do.

The colours blend so well together.  I also used Dylusion stamps.  I have a few sets (most of them) and I have not really had a lot of time to play with them.  I made a few tags and then got to work in one of my art journals.  I did a couple of pages and then started to play with a slightly darker look.

I have been having so much fun and getting very inky and creative.  I love it when a product gives you a whole new injection of inspiration.

Distress Embossing Powder...

Okay so I have been feeling a little inspired this Easter Weekend.  I have had this WOW ATC stand for a few weeks and have had no idea what I really wanted to do with it.  I have been doing a technique class online with Tim Holtz and he was using the Distress Embossing Powers.  Inspiration took over.

So I started with the raw stand.  I inked it with Black Soot Distress Ink.  I made sure that I gave it a really good inking.

I then poured on the Vintage Photo Distress Powder.  Using a heat gun you then make sure that you have completed the dried over the entire stand.  The best thing about Distress Emboss powder is that you cannot over heat it like ordinary embossing powder.  Once you have done this you need to let it cool.

Once cool you gently brush off the excess particles.  These do not get re-used.  This gives the coolest distress effect and I just love how the Black Soot Distress Ink shows through.

Here is a close up of the finished product.  It is so cool.
