Christmas Creating...

Okay the last month has really gotten away from me.  I thought it was about time that I sat down at my craft table and created and what better to create this time of the year - A Christmas Journal Page

I love the versatility of Dylusions stamps.  It is so much fun to be able to interchange the heads and bodies within the stamp sets.

I just had to use the Toadstools.  Just pop a Christmas hat on !!

Just love this one.

Colourful Christmas...

So for something a little different, I thought that I would do a Christmas page using a few non traditional colours.  I have used a few techniques on this page.

I used the tree stencil and instead of drawing or inking over it.  I wrote my journalling inside of it.  This is a technique that I have seen used before and I think it is a great idea.  I is also like a hidden story.  I can see that I am going to be using this some more.

The other technique that I used was to ink with the stencil and then set the stencil off center and using my white Sharpie so dry around the shapes and doodling inside the shapes.  Effective isn't it?

Playing with new Stencils...

Have to say I just love it when I find some new stencils.  I got my hands on some cool cog stencils and I just could not wait to play with them.  Don't you just love it??

This is the finished product.  I have been having so much fun playing with the different way to journal. Finding interesting way to accent the page.  it is so amazing what a little white can do for a page.

Just a few squiggles here and there can make all the different.

Lady Beetle...

So I was cleaning up my scrap room the other day and found this cute little Lady Beetle stamp.  Oh course I just had to use it.  I really don't need an excuse to open up my art journal and play.  This was a fun one.  Nice bright colours and a little red to lift it all.

I have to say it is a very cute little Lady Beetle.

And again on top of my favourite stamp.

Love you Dad...

My Dad has Motor Neuron Disease.  It has to be the most awful thing a person could have.  I took the boys up to see him the other weekend.  He is now in the high care facility at a local aged care unit.  He cannot walk any more and has great difficulty speaking.  However, he still loves to zoom the boys around the hallways on his wheelchair.  Always the hoon!!

Love you Dad..

Its been a while...

Well we have had a very busy month.  I can't believe that it has been a month since I did a blog post.  On 9th September we were lucky to be heading off to Vanuatu for a holiday with the family and friends.  It was the most amazing holiday.

We visited a local school - This is the Peter Pan private school.  We are so lucky to have schools like we do in Australia.

We also visited a local scrapbook store!!  I have to say it is not really a scrapbook store if it does not even have cardstock.

Our hotel was fantastic.  The water was just so clear.

Live Life...

I wanted to play with borders in this layout.  I have used my paint dabbers over my screens to create the borders.  I then used my Sharpie marker to make the border pop.

Blue hair and handbag to match.  It is always great to play with different stamps.

This just says it all.

A little bit of Christmas...

Dylusions have release their Christmas range and oh course I just had to play with it.  I love the border stamps.  They are so versatile.  I have used a different technique for the background.  I prepared a paint wash and covered the page.  You can still see the ink spray colours underneath but it leaves a very muted look to the page.

Isn't he cute??  Not sure if he likes the spiders!!

Love this saying.  I will just have to make sure that my kids dont' see it!

I love this holly border stamp.  It is fantastic.  This also shows you that you don't need to be perfect with your colouring.

Walking on thin ice...

Just another page in my art journal.  I just love how every page is different.  You can add so much emotion to your page.  I love watching how the pages develop.  Someone told me the other day that looking at a pages was like Where's Wally.  You see different things every time you look.

Love this girl.  I have added little white dots using my white Sharpie to add accents to the bow in her hair.

And of course I just had to add a spider!!.

Imperfection ...Embrace It

I just love the saying on this page.  It really matches with "Peggy" by Stampotique Originals.

Mr. Stripes is quickly becoming one of my favourite stamps.  I added some white dots with my Poster Paint Sharpie to accent him.

These stamps are a tad strange but I just love them.

Words Can Say it All

I decided to fill some of the Ranger water pens with my Dylusions Inks to help make it easier to colour in the stamped images.

I love this toadstool stamp and it was a great way to test how my new pens with ink work.

I have used the letter template in different directions and ways.  I really love how this background worked out.

I really don't like birds but actually kinda like this stamp.

Sometime you find some words that are really how you are feeling and exactly what needs to be put on paper.

Don't you just how vibrant the colour are??

With this page I wanted to play with a mix of stamps.  I just want to show people that there are so many different ways that you can use your stamps.

I actually stamped a letter upside down in this page,  Can you tell which one?

No idea why an umbrella has wings but it just works.

The 'b' in book is actually an upside down a

I have just used a lid from one of my spray bottles and dipped it into some paint to make the ring marks.

Another Page from my Sample Art Journal

We just got in some new stamps from Stampotique Originals.  I have used a few stamps from there together with some from the Dylusions range.

I love with Art Journalling that it is okay to not stamp an image properly.

Giggles at legs coming from the top of the page.

Mr Stripes the spider - love him.

The girl stamp is "Sheer".  Isn't she just lovely.  I love her hair.
