Pages 2 Scrap Retreat

This past weekend was Pages 2 Scrap's retreat. We had the best time. I cannot beleive how much laughing we did.

It all started on Friday morning with us running around packing up the goodies and store supplies

I am so grateful for the lovely staff that I have to help me with events like this.  This is Sarah Moseley and me.  It is just so much fun to make her laugh (and very easy to).

Customers started to arrive about midday.  On Friday night we had 27 customers to entertain.  It was so easy to entertain such a great group of woman.

This is Sarah Schwerin and me.  She totally cracks me up.  All it seems to take is one look from Sarah and I am in stitches laughing.

Our theme for the weekend was pink and black.  We had 200 pink and black balloons and we all had a little pink and black on each day.

On Saturday we had more ladies arrive.  In total we had 41 lovely ladies attend the retreat.

This is Bec and me.  I have to say that Friday night sharing a room with Bec was one of the funniest that I have had in a long time.  What happens in the room stays in the room!!

Sunday was the last day of Retreat and it was sad to say goodbye to all the ladies.

Can't wait for the next one.

Thanks for stopping by.

World Card Making Day

The first Saturday of October is World Card Making Day.  Now I am definately not a card maker but thought that I would make a card or 2 anyway.  These are a two of the cards that I made.

This one is just a simple card.  I have used Glimmermist and a honeycomb screen for the background.  I used the excess mist on the edges of the card.  I then used some scrap patterned paper and some music paper together.  I used some scrap ribbon and stapled it onto the card.  I then used a Tim Holtz flower button to finish it off.

The second card again is a simple one.  I used basic white cardstock for the card and then a small piece of patterned paper then a small piece of the same white cardstock.  I inked the edges of the white cardstock using Tea Dye Distress Ink.

I then used the same white card stock to cut the reindeer (Tim Holtz Die of course!!).  I used various brown and orange Distress Inks to colour it.  A small piece of ribbon and some excess pearl bling and it was all done.

Thanks for stopping by.

Charlie Bear

We we had a very interesting start to the week.  Poor little Charlie Bear ended up with a broken arm. When I picked him up from daycare he came running up to me waving his arm around and told me that his arm was broken.  One of the carers told me that he had a little fall and he had not cried.  He just seemed his normal happy self to me.  We got home, I gave the boys dinner and then Charlie and Will were playing rough and tumble with each other.  Will rolled on Charlie's arm and Charlie did not seem too pleased!!  So he then told me that he needed a bottle and bed.  Getting him ready for bed was when I realised that his arm was actually sore.  So I decided to take him down to the hospital. We were very lucky that the Emergency was not busy at all, so we were in and out in under 3 hours.

I just love x-rays.  You can just see a little bump on the bone on the left.  This is the lovely little greenstick facture.  It is so weird he really does not seem all that bothered by it at all. I think it is just amazing to see how little all the bones are and how much more growing his bones have to do.

So the doctor put a backslab on the top of his arm and wraped it in a bandage.  This is only temporary until we go to see the Orthopaedic surgeon to get a proper cast on.  We have to wait a week before we can get a proper cast.  It is going to be pretty hard to make sure that he does not hurt it more!!

The best part about a broken arm is all the extra cuddles that I get!!  Charlie came to work with me today and it was so nice to have lots of cuddles and kisses all day.  He was one tired little man at the end of the day!

Blind Scrap

A few weeks back I participate in a Blind Scrap.  For those that don't know what that is I will fill you in.  In a Blind Scrap you get given a list of items that will be required for the page.  For example 1 black cardstock, 4 patterned papers, small alpha, ribbon etc.  You are then fed instructions as to what size to cut the papers and approximately where to put it.  You have no idea what the finished product is supposed to look like, so it can be quite a challenge.  But I have to say that I totally loved it.  This is my finished page.

The instructions included 4-5 elements for a cluster.  For this I used some metal cogs.

I also ran some thin metal through the cuttlebug using a clock works folder and then cut out one of the cogs.  I used alcohol inks to colour it.

If you ever get the chance to participate in a blind scrap, give it a go it was so much fun.

Thanks for stopping by.

Pages 2 Scrap ATC Challenge...

Hi everyone!

We're hosting our very first open ATC swap at Pages 2 Scrap, and we've love for you to take part!

The criteria for this swap will be the colours Red, White, and Black, and you must use a metal element somewhere!

If you are interested in playing along, please send an email to store@pages2scrap.com.au by close of business on the 10th of June to sign up.

Here is everything you need to know:

* Please make 9 ATC's. Each ATC must feature all three colours of Red, Black, and White - and feature some sort of meteal element.

* Please make sure that all 9 ATC's are the same - and number them on the back with 1 of 9, 2 of 9 etc.

* You are free to use whichever stamps, embellishments, products etc that you like.

* Please send them in a 9 slot ATC sheet like this one here:

We have plenty of these in store if you need them and they are $1.10 each. (Only 88 cents with your member discount!).

These can be sent flat in a large envelope, or folded in 3 to fit in a smaller envelope. Please make sure if you send them flat that you include some cardboard for support so they don't get crushed in the mail.

* Please put the ATC that you want to keep in the top left hand corner slot. You will receive one ATC of your own back, and 8 ATC's from other swappers.

* Please make sure that your details are on the back of your ATC's - i.e name, contact, etc etc.

* Australian players - Please include a stamped, self addressed envelope in with your ATC's - the same size and postage that you use to send them to us.

* International players are welcome! Please email us to sort out return postage.

* You can drop your ATC's to us in store, or you can also mail your ATC's to the following address:

Sisters...

Just thought I would show you another simple 8.5"x11" layout that I have done.  In this layout I have used the Bo Bunny Gabrielle Collection.  This has to be one of my favourite collections from the Bo Bunny range.    I just love the warm colours and the papers are stunning.

I have used a photo that I really love.  This is my mum's wedding and these are her sisters.  Lynn is the lady holding the baby and Andrea "Flo" is the baby.  It is such a lovely photo and works so well with these papers.

I have used a Marth Stewart Deep Edger Punch - Doily Lace Trim to make an additional element to the page.  I have also used an offcut of the same cardstock to use to make my title.

This range has some stunning embellishements.  This butterfly is from 12" Chipboard and is so easy to use because it has adhesive on the back.

I am so loving doing simple and easy layouts.

Thanks for stopping by.
