Well it has been a while since i posted on here. Things have just been crazy with family, work and life in general. I have decided that I need to start using this blog to help with my creative outlet. In the last few years I have closed my scrapbook store we had for 10 years, had lots of stress with my oldest son and his mental health. The things that have kept me going have been the love of my family, friends and the inspiration from the crafting world.

My New Favourite Thing
So I was lucky to be able to attend the Teresa Collins Vegas event in September 2017. I had for a long time lost my mojo for scrapping photos. We did an amazing class with Teresa and I found exactly what I was looking for.
These notebooks allow you to put in so many photos. They are so much fun to make and very interactive. The best part is I am actually using all my project life cards and get to go shopping for lots of new stationery.
I am now looking at my stash in a very different and exciting way. I love that I am able to take stash with me even when we are camping. You can do so much with such a little amount of supplies.
I just love my Happy Planner storage case. It is amazing just how much you can fit in this one little carry bag.

Long time no post
Well it has been an eternity since I have blogged. I decided today that I wanted to share more of my art journal love with everyone. I will be posting about my journal and hope to inspire.
Here are a few things I have done lately.
This is a work in progress. I started this page in a Dyan Reaveley ink spray class. I just love the colours of this page. Dyan is the most awesome teacher and I cannot wait to have her back at Pages 2 Scrap.
This is a page using all Dylusions products. Inks, stamps and stencils.
I did this page at Pages 2 Scrap retreat. I have used Kinder Kreations chipboard and Dylusions paints and stamps.
This was a fun page. I used an animal calendar as inspiration for this one. It is done using Dylusions paints.
This is one of my fav pages that I did years ago. It is done using all Dylusions inks, stencils and stamps. There are several torn pages and washi to stick the pieces back in.
Hope you have enjoyed the pages.

Camping...
Who said camping was no fun???
We have just come back from a long weekend of camping. It was a fantastic weekend away with the family. What a place for inspiration!!
The view from our campsite was just amazing. It was a tad chilly but once the sun came out it was just amazing. But I did still find time to do some work in my art journal
I have been trying to finish off some pages that were just backgrounds. I love to make borders out of parts of stamps and then change the colours around so that it is not what you expect.
This page I have had the background down for a few weeks and just did not know what I wanted to do with it. I never worry about leaving a page as just a background as I know that I will eventually find the right finish to the page. I really love how this page mixes the colours and shapes. Have to say it is a fav of mine right now.
It is also fun to play around with mixing up the stamps too. I have used border stamps all the way down the page like hanging vines. It is such a cool effect.

The Eyes Have It...
This page is all about a bit of fun. Using different stamp sets and altering stamps to give different effects is what this is all about.
Stamping the eyeballs at the end of the branches gives such a cool result. Also there appears to be a head at the food of the tree!!
Oh there's the body! See all just a little bit of fun.

Dina Wakley Visit to Pages 2 Scrap...
The best part of being an owner of a scrapbook store is getting the most amazing opportunities. April 2013 I was able to share a very special opportunity with the store. We had the amazing Dina Wakley at Pages 2 Scrap to teach for 5 amazing classes.
This picture was taken after the Sunday 5 hour class. It was great to have staff and our design team members there to share the day.
Here are a couple of the pages that I did during the 5 classes.

Girls with Hearts...
So I think the silhouette masks and stencils are going to be a favourite of mine. I am just going to have so much fun with them. I find this page so floaty and happy. The red hearts are from the Dylusions Inbetweenies stamp set.
I also added a little flower at the end of the heart border stamp. I have also used white ink to add to the dimension of the silhouettes.
This is a favourite saying of mine (from Dylusions The Right Words stamp set).

Froggies...
I just love to play with the body and head stamps. I have to say that I really do like this frog head. I use it a bit and it was the perfect match for this page.
I have used the Dylusions Journal block to draw the border on this page. I love the effect of using the black ink and the white writing. It is cool that it makes it look a little like a blackboard.
The background is just a border stamp from the Inbetweenies set. It is very effective to just have the simple yellow background with the black stamp.

Flowers of Courage...
Don't you just love my finger painting?? This whole page has been done with Dylusions inks and my fingers. I just love it.
In the picture above you can see where I have used the page to clean my stencil Silhouette. It just amazes me just what you can make from a page that you have been cleaning your stencils with.
I just love the idea of writing inspirational words down the stems of the flowers. They are not too obvious but still say what I need them too.

Torn...
I just love working on torn pages. This is an example of the dimension that you can get just by tearing out a page.
This page was very narrow and I was not really sure what to do with it. So I just filled it with lots of images that I could colour. I love how bright and happy this looks
I found this cool picture of a horse in a magazine and it was just perfect for this page. The colours on this page are just 3 shades of blue. I have also used white to make the snowflakes. There is really not a lot to this page but it is just perfect.

Pretty in Pink...
Playing with tags and adding them to your journal page is a great way to add more dimension. In this pages I have added a tag that I made while trying out a new technique.
I love the colours in this tag.
Under the tag I had to be a little different, so I have added one of my fav phrases. "suck it up princess" - Just because I could!! You always have to remember that there are no rights and wrongs in journaling it is all about what you like and feel at the time.

Dotty...
In this page I have used a silhouette stencil and also put a dot stencil with it to get the dots to just be in the silhouette. I then used a white Sharpie to outline the silhouette.
This is also a page that I have torn out of the journal, then torn in half and then stuck back in using Time Holtz Tissue Tape. I really love doing this but it did take a bit of getting used to.
I love using this background stamp as a border. I have it heaps of fun to colour the flowers. Again I have used the white Sharpie to accent the centers of the flowers.

Soft Kitty...
I have been enjoying playing with different colours. I love this one as I have only really used blues and yellow. This page was one where I had been using to clean off my stencils. The stencil pattern that you can see in white was from cleaning from a previous page.
I have also used the white to stamp the leaf pattern. I have then used both a white and black Sharpie to outline the image to give more definition.
Don't you just love the spots on the kitty??

More art journal fun...
I love playing with colour and different ways to use your stamps. Curious Corrin is standing on 2 border stamps that I have used back to back from the Further Around the Edge set.
I have started to use lines from songs in my journal. I find the ones I like and I write them down and keep this in the front pocket of the journal.
I really love Curious Corrin - she is one of my favs and great to colour with.

Adding tags...
At CHA I got the opportunity to have a look through some on Dyan Reaveley's journals. To say that are totally amazing is an understatement. In one of her journals she added a tag so I thought I better give it a go.
I have used some of the new stamps from the Under the Sea set.
I love the idea of having some hidden journalling under the tag.
I also used black paint through the stencils to add the black starts. I then used a white marker to outline them.

Woohoo new inks and stamps
It is always so exciting when we get new product in at Pages 2 Scrap. I have been waiting for the 6 new Dylusions ink sprays to arrive and as soon as they did I just had to take them home and play. The six new colours are Cherry Pie, Dirty Martini, Calypso Teal, After Midnight, Funky Fuchsia and White Linen. I am totally in love with the White Linen. It is my new favourite colour.
The new stamps that Dyan has realsed are very cute. They are all monsters and critters. I just love them.
Also the new sayings stamps are really cool too and they always make me giggle.
