Calendar Class - July Page

Tomorrow we are doing July for our calendar. There are lots of cool techniques in this layout. I have used a lot of different colours of Distress Inks, my fav punch of the moment, lace, book paper, Prima flowers, ribbon, Tim Holtz dies, thickers and much more.

I just love the Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly punch. This is my favourite punch right now. It is just so easy to give the page some lift by folding the wings up.

I have used old book paper on this tag and then sealed it with Glimmer Glam. Just love this new tattered Angels product. I then used string to tie a little bow.

Again I have used the Monarch Butterfly punch. I have used little Thickers for the Month of July.

For this one I have used a Prima Script stamp and a Prima flower. I used a Tim Holtz die to cut the wings and then covered with Distress ink and Glossy Accents. This gave a really cool effect.

Thanks for stopping by.

Calendar Class

For the past few months on the last Saturday of each month, I have taught a calendar class. Each month we do a new page from the calendar. At the end of the year we will have our own personalised 2011 calendar ready to go.

I have really enjoyed teaching lots of different pages and just love seeing how the lovely ladies in my class adapt the page to their own styles. I think that is the best part.

Here are a few of the pages that we have done so far.

January
This page was an Australia Day theme. We used the Cricut to cut the letters. I wanted to put some Australia Flags on the page but could not find any that I liked. So I downloaded an image of one from the internet and printed it as a photo. Worked a treat. I just love this photo of Will. The face was so funny. He really did not like sitting on the grass.

February
This was a Valentine theme. The papers were Fancy Pants Vintage Valentine.

I also used my favourite Tim Holtz stamp from the Rock Star set. I have used it on so many different layouts. It is great for boys and looks great on this page.

March

This was a fun page. I wanted to use stamp, punches, Nestablilities and Glimmer Mist.

We Glimmer Misted tha page and then cut a base for the flower pot, stamped the stems using a Kaiser flourish stamp, and then used Nestabilities to cut the flower heads from photos of the boys.
April

April was our Easter theme. This was a fun class. We used the cricut to cut all the eggs. This was done with the auto fill function. This left a cool template that we used as a screen to Glimmer Mist the second page.

We also used the cricut for the Easter Basket and bunnies. It was great fun decorating Easter Eggs.

May

This was Will's birthday theme page. He was wearing his PJ's when he opened his presents so I used bright coloured papers.

I also created cute little pockets to put in a special birthday message.

June

This was Joe's birthday page. We went to Tree Tops Adventure Park for his birthday. I just love this page.
I used string to create the rope bridge. I attached the photos with the string through brass eyelets.

The trees were stamped using the Darkroom Door 'Trees" stamps. These are fantastic stamps.

This tree is a Twiddley Bitz tree. I painted it with Viva Precious Metal Bronze.

June was created by punching out cardstock and inking the edges and then mounting them with foam mounting tape.

I will post more soon.

Thanks for stopping by.

Father's Day 2010

Father's day is a wonderful day that celebrates our loving dads. For me this year it was a day with mixed emotions. My beautiful dad was diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease in February 2010. This is a terminal disease and it seems to be taking dad very quickly. So this year I had no idea what to get dad. What do you give someone that is dying? So I thought that I would make him a 7 Gypsies Photo Tray with pictures of the boys. Something from my heart.
I used a Tattered Angels Family Bingo Card, distressed and inked the edges and attached a silver key from their range.
The butterflies have been made from the Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly punch. I think this is my new fav.
The heart is from Collections Elements and the metal "Kiss" from Tim Holtz.
I really love how this all turned out and am so glad that I was able to find a gift that I know my dad loves.

Smiles

Well life is back to normal again. Back to long hours, 6 days a week and spending way too much working. But it is all worthwhile when you see the wonderful smiles that you get. This is a fantstic photo that Phil took of the boys as I drove into the driveway. Those little smiles can make any day so much better.

Just a short note
Bye
